"Students can take handphones, IT gadgets to school"
I was browsing thru posts by friends in facebook. Well, you know sometimes your friends in FB are even faster than The Star or any news available.. lol
So i stumbled upon one post read as follow:
"OMG!!!...Is this for real???... "Students can bring mobile phones, IT gadgets to school from 2013 after Education Act is amended, says Dep Education Minister Wee Ka Siong/STAR"
OMG indeed~! I couldn't believe it so i still have another option. Google it! and there you go.. Students can take handphones, IT gadgets to school from 2013.. Read that teachers!
Not that I'm complaining. Not that I'm against the "embracing the IT" but take your time to think of the burden on the teachers' shoulder. No? Nothing came to your mind? Nah, lemme give you one simple example.
Say a students lost his phone in the classroom. Do you think he wouldn't ask the teacher for help? And if the teachers couldn't find it, will the parents remind silent and just let it go? Say its an iPhone? or Ipad? or the new Samsung?
Looking for the phone is already a hassle. Should the teacher stop teaching to find the gadgets? That's only one example.. You wouldn't know how creative some students are until you see what they can do with their phone.. Lets see what happen next..
And indeed it'll create some i'm-richer-than-you kinda environment, showing-off, and indirectly alienating the poor ones. One will feel inferior and the other one will fell dominating! (*grrrr, why am i thinking of DotA saying that lol*).. Don't say it's not gonna happen or it is the reality of life.. We don't wanna paint that image in our future generation, do we?
I hope there'll be some clear guidelines on that one. or else we'll see flooding, live updates on Twitter and Facebook!
